NATIONAL SKILLED TRADES DAY AND GM RECOGNIZE AND PROMOTE DEDICATED WORKERS
With more than a decade of experience in automotive repair, technician Jess Anderson now has a title worthy of her skills and hard work — World Class Technician.
This World Class Technician designation comes from earning a Master Certification in either Engine or Diesel Engine Performance, as well as seven other specializations. Anderson is the chief electrical technician at her dealership, and her background will help her as the growth of alternative-fuel vehicles continues.
She also represents a section of the workforce recognized across the country earlier in the month for their dedication to a particular craft. National Skilled Trades Day, observed the first Wednesday of every May, celebrates the contribution that people such as Anderson make to help keep this country running, and raises awareness of the continuing need to develop these workers.
GM and independent service shops recognize this day throughout the year by promoting the benefits of the automotive technician career and recruiting new people to the position. GM does this in particular through its Bring Us Your Talent campaign for GM dealers: Visit bringusyourtalent.com to learn more.
We are grateful for the skills and knowledge that technicians display on a daily basis. Thank you for your good work!
