FIRM FOUNDATION – GM INTRODUCES TWO NEW ENGINE BLOCKS.

| December 29, 2017

When it comes to building your body, a good personal trainer will concentrate on creating core strength. The same concept holds true for building great engines—start at the center, with the block. Two recent additions to the Chevrolet Performance block portfolio will give shops and customers even more options to do just that.

The 6.0L arrives ready to be put to work. It comes fully machined with main bearing caps and camshaft bearings already installed. It also features a production oiling system, 6-bolt iron main bearing caps, 9.240 in. deck height and 4.00 in. finished cylinder bore. The 6.0L can use LS1, LS6, LS2, L92 or LQ4/LQ9 cylinder heads.

If you’re looking for a durable base for impressive output, look no further since the 6.0L has been tested to 500hp. Also looking for offers? This block qualifies for current Chevrolet Performance Parts incentives.

The new 6.6L LML/LGH Duramax Diesel Machined Engine Block (part number 12651877) similarly qualifies for those same incentives. It too comes ready to rumble since it’s fully machined with main bearing caps and camshaft bearings already installed. This block can’t be used for new vehicle warranty repairs, but has plenty of other applications.

The start of a new year is a great time to rejuvenate your body with an effective strength-building program. Begin 2018 by adopting the same strategy with your block options. Pump up the possibilities with a call to your Genuine GM Parts Dealer.
